School routines start again ... but the world is spinning faster than usual

We are all aware that in this year our school's environment will not be untouched by the political developments taking place now in Europe and Germany and Lake Constance County.  

Therefore the first "Book of the Day", drawn from our history section, is the "Enzyklopädie Migration in Europe - Vom 17. Jahrhundert bis zur Gegenwart" Enzyklopädie Migration in Europe(2nd ed, 2008). Though it doesn't cover the new waves of migrants, it reminds us that societies have been faced with waves of migration for a long long time, and, most importanlt, have found ways of coping each time.
